Definition of wire and cable: Wire and cable are used to transmit electric (magnetic) energy, information and wire products that realize electromagnetic energy conversion. In a broad sense, wire and cable are also referred to as cables. In a narrow sense, cables refer to insulated cables. It can be defined as: composed of the following parts A collection of components; one or more insulated cores, and their respective possible coatings, total protective layers and outer sheaths, and cables may also have additional uninsulated conductors. Functions of wires and cables: The main functions of wires and cables are to transmit electric energy and signals and realize electromagnetic conversion. Those that transmit electric power are power cables and overhead lines, etc., those that transmit signals are like axial cables, and those that realize electromagnetic conversion are like enameled wires.
